  • Address Points:   Keeping in mind the complex address structures followed in India, TomTom in India collects every house number as a point to help drivers reach their destinations.
  • Postal code:s  Data is collected from the government agencies. Boundaries are defined by including all localities of a postal code. Example: Postal code 411015 has 3 localities: Dighi, Vishrantwadi and Dhanori. These localities would have multiple sub localities. All the localities and sub localities are assigned to this postal code thereby helping in hierarchical search.
  • Points of Interest:  In India we navigate to Points of Interest due to irregular/complicated address structure. Maps contain more than 180+ POI categories which are grouped together into important categories like Hospitals, Restaurants, Tourist Attractions, Hotels, Banks, ATMs, etc.
  • Administrative Areas:  Maps comprise of Hierarchical administrative divisions which includes States, Districts, Talukas, Cities, Localities and Sub-Localities.
